In an effort to ensure that the District is purchasing equipment that will provide years of service and versatility, Technology & Information Services (TIS) is currently approving specific HP printer models. These printers will have less down-time, lower operational costs and better performance than many of the lower cost printers on the market. Though the initial cost per printer might be higher, these printers benefit everyone in the long run. They are designed for maximum up-time, very little maintenance and centralized management. Additional benefits include networking, automatic duplexing, and the availability of higher capacity toner cartridges, which help lower the cost per printed page. These printers will be versatile for future use no matter what the initial printing need may be. Their features allow TIS to remotely manage the printers and, in many cases, there is no need to wait for a technician to visit to resolve issues. Our objective is to make certain staff and students have printers that will perform well for years to come.
